This marks a significant milestone as the first instance of video-generation models being embedded directly into a mirrorless camera, offering unparalleled creative possibilities to users.
Seamless Integration and Future Availability
The Generative Video Editing functionality is accessible through the Caira application and operates exclusively with footage captured by the Caira device. This ensures that the technology enhances, rather than replaces, the art of traditional filmmaking. A private beta program is currently underway for existing Caira customers, with the full feature slated for release as part of the paid Caira Studio software package in Autumn 2026.

At the core of this innovative editing system are Google's Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash and Runway's Aleph 2.0. These state-of-the-art AI models enable the Caira camera to offer real-time, on-device video generation capabilities, previously unheard of in a mirrorless camera system.
Transforming Footage with Intuitive Commands
Through the Caira app, users can apply a range of visual and camera-motion effects to their recorded footage. Utilizing natural language instructions and a curated library of templates, filmmakers can effortlessly achieve effects such as relighting scenes, reframing shots, simulating complex camera movements like drone sweeps, and even extending sets. The generated outputs are available in 720p and 1080p resolutions, with processing times ranging from one to three minutes.
Upholding the Integrity of Original Photography
A crucial aspect of this new feature is its dedication to preserving the integrity of original content. Every generative edit must commence with footage originally captured by a Caira camera. Furthermore, all AI-generated videos are saved as distinct files from the originals and are watermarked with Google's SynthID, clearly identifying them as AI-modified content.
